The American Cancer Society is bringing together the construction industry and our local community with our second The Big Dig, formally known as Construction vs. Cancer event. This 2019 summer event will be an amazing fun-filled fundraising day that is open to the community.
We plan to provide a day of fun and fundraising. The Big Dig is a unique fundraising event that provides a festive, fair-like atmosphere for children and their families, event sponsors and ticket holders. More than 500 little and big construction enthusiasts are expected to attend this unique fundraising event benefiting the American Cancer Society in the mission to eliminate cancer as a major health issue through research, patient services and advocacy.
The American Cancer Society is working to finish the fight against every cancer in every community. We are the largest private, not-for-profit funder of cancer research in the United States, investing more than $10M in Seattle researchers in 2017. Thanks in part to our contributions, more than 1.5 million lives have been saved in the U.S. in the past two decades. Now, that is a reason to celebrate.
We hope you will join us.
For more than a 100 years, The American Cancer Society has been leading the fight to end cancer. With your support, we have helped usher in an era where more people survive cancer than ever before. By translating our research findings into action, we've seen a 20% decline in US cancer death rates since the early 1990s. Join us to help finish the fight.
